The Tradesmen\u2019s Centre in Barcs was opened 90 years ago, it was built by the locals from public donations. Today it is the M\u00f3ricz Zsigmond Cultural Centre, and the former tradesmen\u2019s house is the dance hall. The tradesmen society of Barcs decided to build its headquarter on the former Jausz site in 1930. The construction was largely done on their own, but they also issued support stamps to accelerate the whole process. The completed building housed a large hall and a buffet, and the large hall also served as a cinema. Its inauguration took place on 2 August, 1931. After the nationalization, the District House of Culture was housed in the headquarter, and in the late 1950s it was expanded with a new cinema and other service rooms. It was modernized in 1974 and then completely rebuilt and expanded in 2006.<\/p>\n
Cultural opportunities must be created to enrich the quality of life, to enjoy holidays, to experience aesthetic experiences and to learn about the values \u200b\u200bof local culture. Today, this is the main purpose of events and programs organized by the institution: theatre performances, pop and classical music concerts, gigs of amateur bands, various programs, exhibitions, regional art seminars, etc.<\/p>\n
